The Loire Valley is a well-known landmark of France, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, it is famous for its magnificent castles. In this tour we suggest you visit one of the three most popular castles of the Loire Valley – The Chenonceau Castle. Its unusual location on the river Cher creates an incredibly delightful spectacle, giving a special atmosphere of tranquility and peacefulness. This castle is captivating and fascinating with its beauty. Here you will see real masterpieces of the French art, once the property of Diana Poitier and Queen Catherine de Medici.
In addition to the castles, the Loire Valley is famous for its vineyards that have existed here since the Roman Empire. This valley specializes in white and pink light wines, fruity, often semi-dry and sparkling. During the tasting, you can enjoy the whole range of these flavors and tastes.
After visiting the castle and tasting the Loire Wines, it’s time for a lunch, we will bring you to one of the best local restaurants. Thanks to the mild climate and fertile soil, the best fruits and vegetables are ripening here from which the French chefs make the most delicious dishes. The Loire and its tributaries are rich in delicious fish: such as pike, carp, salmon, eel. Of course, there are also meat dishes of fowl, pork, tender rabbit, lamb and beef. As for desserts, many of them are based on ripe fruits, ripened in local gardens, often marinated in sweet liqueurs and fragrant wines.
After the lunch we will take you to a wine tasting in the area called Vouvray, which is located on the gentle slopes of limestone tuff.
Exceptional limestone soil makes the wines fresh and mineral, allowing you to store wines more than 100 years, what is absolutely not typical for the white wines. This tasting also includes the cellars and wine caves tours accompanied by a sommelier. For many centuries here, in the soft rock, those cellars were made, in which the local residents kept the wine made from the best grape variety of the Chenen Blanc.
At the end of the Loire Valley Tour, we want to give you a walk around a small town known all over the world as Amboise, in which the legendary Leonardo da Vinci used to live. During this period he created and completed several immortal masterpieces and there is the “Gioconda” among them.
